Chi Lin Nunnery
5:24 PM
Back in Hong Kong.. Chi Lin Nunnery became our first stop. Before you go to Chi Lin Nunnery, you're gonna pass this beautiful Nan Lian Garden. You are gonna see the security office at the entrance gate. It's free to see this place but you are not allowed to eat or drink in this area, so I just hold my kiwi juice along the way. Nan Lian garden is located at Diamond Hill in Kowloon and is built in the classical style of the Tang Dynasty.
Chi Lin Nunnery is a large Buddhist complex from the 1930s. All the buildings here was built completely of wood with interlocking system (without a single nail) based on traditional Chinese architectural techniques. Before you enter this place, you are gonna pass the main gate. After that you are gonna pass through the Lotus pond and you will see the Hall of Heavenly Kings right in front of you.
Nan Lian Garden and Chi Lin Nunnery is a beautiful place to see in Hong Kong. You can feel the city heritage among the modernity and sense of serenity and tranquility in the middle of the city bustle.
