Ruins of St. Paul's

4:19 PM

Our next stop is the Ruins of St. Paul's. We took a free shuttle bus from Galaxy Macau. There is no direct bus from Galaxy Macau to the Ruins of St. Paul's, but the bus will drop us near the location so we can go there by foot. I like walking around this area because you can see a lot of beautiful places. On the way there you are going to pass the Senado Square. The square is surrounded by pastel coloured buildings, creating a Mediterranean atmosphere. Before you reach the Ruins of St. Paul's, you will pass through a crowded alley with many shops.

The Ruins of St. Paul's was originally St. Paul's College and the Church of St. Paul also known as Mater Dei. The ruins is a must visit place because this is the most treasured icon in Macau and a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can visit The Museum of Sacred Art and Crypt in the inner area of the Ruins of St. Paul's. Here you can see objects of high historical and artistic value from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Admission to the museum is free every day between 9 am to 6 pm.

This place is very crowded in the afternoon, I suggest you come early in the morning to see this beautiful place quietly. But I thank God because I can see a beautiful sunset and I can't stand to take some photos. Before going home don't forget to buy Portuguese Egg Tart. The tart is very delicious and a must try! You must eat it right away while it's still warm.
